But the other side of it is I literally never once had to ask Jerome for an update, and the build was very delayed. But not once during the proces was I unaware. All I am saying in general is that if I am paying for a service, at least getting back to me after a week or two is not a lot to expect.
On the other side, if you're the kind of customer that is constantly bugging the builder, asking for daily updates and stuff like that, I would understand the luthier not wanting to participate in the back-and-forth.

I highly recommend just chill, and wait. This will work out. AJL guitars are *great*, the boss is 100% cool, he does beautiful sonorous work and is scrupulously fair at business.
Since his return email last week he has informed me that the other buyer on the line received an invoice but hasn’t gone through with payment. I have made final payment this morning for the guitar and hoping he comes through from here.

Seconded.
...and this is why Bob Holo sells his guitars directly through Michael only.
