    Damn!?! That's nuts. Well at least it was this guy, if she'd done it with second fiddle that would've been the real bummer. And there's entertaining story to tell now. But I can (try) to imagine how not-funny it was at the time, ouch. And you got Shopis today.

    I'd been listening to Grappelli for a decade or so when that album came out (kicked off in part by Grisman's work on the score for King of the Gypsies, and to Django for a bit longer, and I wouldn't push very hard at the Dawg influence on guitarists who aspired to Hot-Club-proper rhythm playing. I know that I wasn't. I certainly could tell the difference between the version of "Swing 39" on the Carson clip and the pulse I got from the QHCF and later European outfits like Schnuckenack Reinhardt's.
