Nicely done - I would definitely use this app. One comment, on Windows 11, with various browsers, the bass (guitar) is too loud, over-shadows the rhythm guitar.

And to be honest that's the only way I could really play Rodrigo Y Gabriela, I took a teacher specifically for that and that's when I started slowing things down that i could make it happen. Focusing on the left, right hand, on this or that movement.
I hear you about the metronome, definitely will take my time. Feeling the harmony of the song is exactly what my teacher told me yesterday... "Stop learning comfortable stuff, try to understand a song harmony first".

Another update and I'd love your feedback before I build a couple of things 🙏
Since the pompe update I've shipped a fair bit, but the reason I'm posting is @Buco good advice: ask the players before implementing, not after. So this is half changelog, half genuine questions.
What's new since last time:
- UI simplification / better UX. Big rework to declutter the view and make it more accessible, especially on mobile
- Learn + Understand + Test-yourself. A plain-language theory layer: how a chord is actually built (tones & semitones), scale formulas, how the dominant resolves, the ♭9 diminished, reading chord symbols. On any tune there's now an "Understand the harmony" panel that breaks down each chord (its notes, its role, where it pulls), then quick self-test cards with gentle spaced repetition so it sticks. Everything's hearable now through real acoustic-guitar samples, not just a synth.
- Licks. Build a lick on the neck, transpose it to any key, drill it, group them into bundles — and optionally publish one to share. All free, no signup to create.
- Accounts (optional, the tool still needs no signup). You can claim your community card and edit it yourself, or make an account to sync across devices and choose whether you appear in the directory at all. You get a personal profile with your videos + licks, shareable (QR too).
- Creators: Tag one of your videos #hautegitanerie + the tune name and it appears on that tune's page, credited, embedded from your channel, linking straight back to you. You keep the views; I only ever send traffic, never re-host or monetize anything.
- Chord variations. Tap a chord to see the manouche moves you could play instead (the minor line m → m6, the ♭9/dim on dominants…). Without touching the reference grille.
- More players in the community directory, filterable by role.
Where I'd genuinely value your feedback (before I code it):
1. The neck, "as if watching your teacher." An option to mirror the fretboard — strings reversed, the way you see a player sitting across from you, maybe drawn over a photo of a real neck. Would that make the shapes easier to read? (And separately: would highlighting a repeated shape, the same box copy-pasted up the neck, be useful?) Idea courtesy of @Buco .
On money, same as before: still free, still no signup for the core, and the chords / the tool / the pedagogy will never be paywalled. Some extras might be paid one day — maybe an extended learning path, some teacher tools… and one bigger idea I'm keeping under wraps for now 😄.

The app is 10 days from going to the Play store ! already on iOS but i'll update both at the same time once it reaches the play store (or it's a bit too much hussle).

Yeah, regarding the arpeggio diagrams, they would always create a knot in my head. Even today when I am plenty familiar with basic arpeggios, when I look at those diagrams, my mind starts spinning.
The way they're oriented from the players perspective looking down on the fretboard doesn't make sense to me. So I wanted to do this experiment and I came up with this rough example. Circling separate groupings is already an improvement to me and I don't really see anyone doing that. That way it's not a bunch of dots, which don't tell me much. I can see "oh, it's just four notes that keep repeating". You realize it's all a few notes and then copy/paste.
So this perspective, where it's what you would see if someone else was showing you what to play (and we never have an issue seeing someone playing something in front us and then repeating it on our guitar, even total beginners) and especially circling the groups makes it so much more approachable to me. But I could be in minority.
Feature request: is it possible to change the tuning of the strings?
I don't use EADGBE, I use EADGCF (straight 4ths). The app would be much more useful to me if I could change the B->C and E->F.
Ha, I swear just yesterday I was wondering do you high E to E or F...
Because when I was talking to Axel I was saying how guitar is tuned in 4ths, except the B string.
Which is what made me realize this interesting thing. Whatever note degree you're on, straight below is +3. The exception is between G and B string you have to move one fret higher to get the same thing. And when you're playing the 4th, straight below is a dominant or b7, not major 7.
For example when you play root of any scale, you're on 1, straight below is +3 so 4th. If you're on the 3rd of any scale, straight below is +3, the 6th. Straight below that is +3, so the 9th, or the second...and so on. All because the guitar is stacked in 4th, with those exceptions mentioned. This can be helpful to figure out the scale degrees if you're not familiar.
I can look into that, I don't know how common that is though (have to do per priority) but I put it on the roadmap. If that's easy on my end i'll do it.

One feature will be golden once the lick and phrases library grows; when you look into a lick, you will get a suggested list of songs to use it over. When I used Anki cards to learn licks and phrases, it was a bit time consuming to figure out the songs and then come up with a backing tracks. If this solves that, that'll be fantastic.
Yeah that would be super interesting to build and will probably help me too along the way 😅

There is a
swingoption but the idea is not to rebuild Guitar Pro or Soundslice. I think it might be best to put emphasis on providing actual recording of the lick and people fill the gap once they learned it.So I also shipped SoundCloud support for those that have an
audiorecording without videos, even if a small video would be I think better 😁.What do you think ?
I just visited. LOTS going on. Cool stuff. Maybe overwhelming.
But more importantly I listened to the midi backing tracks, it sounds like there is an up stroke in the midi. I would take that out, to me it sounds like there is a delay effect added. A more simple straight rhythm might be useful.
Just a thought.
