When I wanted to play for commoners I was played some Rodrigo y Gabriela, didn't know about gypsy jazz.
Since garbriela's playing is out of this world I coudln't find anyone in Paris that wanted to play with me. So I ordered backing tracks from someone that did online covers.
Best thing I could do in my musical non career !! Did 3/4 busking session, 7 open mics. Great great experience, was so afraid to play in public.
In some open mics backing tracks are forbidden... so imagine the loneliness, still great experience and training. No light, no backing track, have to keep time by yourself 😂. Quite savage but I cannot recommend enough.
Take whatever path makes you grow while respecing others <3
