WTB: Selmer-style BODY

in Classifieds Posts: 2

Hey folks-

I know this is a long shot, but I'm looking for an Oval hole Selmer-style guitar body. I guess I'm imagining/hoping that someone (or perhaps a dealer?) has an Altamira M01, Eastman DM1 or something similar that has a damaged or defective neck sitting around so that they could part out the rest of the guitar.

Because this is for a bit of an experimental project (my goal is to attach an aesthetically matching 5-string banjo neck), my budget is most likely going to be limited to these kinds of imported guitars rather than having something custom built or spending the $$ to purchase an entire guitar off the rack only to remove the neck. But, let me know what you have and we'll see! FWIW, I am located in Michigan, USA.

TIA

Keith

Well, I have this Altamira M30 that got skewered by a forklift

The remaining wood is in the body and could probably be pieced back together. Other than the “sound port” on the side, it’s totally intact and functional. $300 plus shipping.

Wow, kinda surprised the forklift didn't do even worse damage - surprisingly clean tbh lol

Thanks Michael- as I'm looking for an intact body, this is likely more of a project than I'm wanting to take on. But I appreciate you letting me know and I'll keep this option in mind.

When I worked at David Gage (a bass shop in NYC) people would somewhat routinely bring their basses in garbage bags full of pieces after some horror story. I think one time someone drove a forklift through an upright bass hardcase on an airport tarmac.

I also worked in a fiberglass boat factory and watched this coworker who was very clearly drunk drive a forklift through a $100k boat mold which is still one of the coolest dumbest things I've ever seen.
