Joe's take on buying a seat for your guitar.
Every flight I have been on lately has been oversold. Like he says, even buying the seat isn’t guaranteed because they can still try to bump you. Another consideration if you buy the seat is that you need to check the airline requirements. For some they have requirements that the guitar has to be in a hard case. If you are one of the people trying to carry on in a gig bag, buying a seat won’t work.
