Are copyright issues the reason why there are no longer waveforms for YouTube videos when transcribing in Soundslice?
My older transcriptions from YouTube videos still have waveforms but recent ones do not generate waveforms. I find the waveforms helpful when transcribing so that I can line up the notes and notation more precisely. I looks like it works but there is a note saying "YouTube doesn't support waveforms", but it actually looks like it does.
@geese_com That's a separate (unrelated) thing. YouTube has gotten more aggressive about blocking sites that process its audio, and audio processing is necessary in order to generate waveforms — so waveform generation for YouTube videos hasn't been available on our site for a while. Your older slices must have had their waveforms generated back before YouTube got aggressive.
I agree it's much nicer to work with the waveform. Note you'll definitely get one if you upload an MP3 directly to Soundslice. (Plus a bunch of other features like better quality slowdown, more precise looping, pitch correction and auto beat detection).
Dang, this is an absolute bummer. Really sad to see this amazing resource go away. I plan to work on making my own transcriptions and lessons with soundslice this year but it really is devastating to no longer have access to the community aspect. As other have said, it was great while it lasted! Thanks for all you’ve done Adrian!
Très triste nouvelle ... je relevais régulièrement des parties guitares que je partageais gratuitement sur cette page. Une triste nouvelle pour les étudiants et autres passionnés de musique.
Very sad news... I regularly noted guitar parts that I shared for free on this page.
Sad news for students and other music enthusiasts.

I guess I am just confused.

Some people are sharing their transcriptions as secret links on their own websites:
This is pure gold!! Thank you so much!
