He cut out the square and added internal shelf's on the corners and placed another piece of rosewood in there..it's honestly super impressive you couldnt tell unless I pointed it out.

Ah yes, I can imagine how he did it now, and of course you can glue those 'shelves' in through the hole, rather than trying to do it through the soundhole. Excellent!

Do you know how it was done? I'm very interested in the process - how was the new piece fitted and glued? Was it also laminated rosewood/mahogany?
