What did Joscho say in his video (and I paraphrase): Poor luthiers copy, good luthiers steal. I think it is safe to say, @paulmcevoy75 , that you've got your own thing going on!👍️
generally blue is for the tail, red for the waist and green for the neck. They are different thicknesses so it makes it a bit faster to have them roughly open to the right depth prior to gluing. I think at one point I was gluing the tops on with hide glue when speed is super essential. But now I'm using titebond for that...timing is less critical.

Are you making a rosette? Looking great!!! Can't wait to hear it being played!!!! I'm going to Django in the Bay next weekend, and am excited to meet some well known luthiers and hopefully have a strum of their creations. I've got total admiration for you and anyone else that makes their own gypsy guitars. Skills!!!!!

thanks guys! I'm happy with what I'm doing, and I'm adapting a lot of other stuff. It's hard to invent something totally new but this is fun.
Here's my new neck joint:
I'm thinking this one will be for me. On my weird quest to build more D'Aquisto inspired Selmers.
I tried to design a modernist sound hole that had Jimmy D vibes and basically ended up with a Selmer D hole without purfling. Oh well.
Japanese wallpaper visible...
Looks great! What’s the significance of the different color markings on the clamps?

No rosette on that one. Minimalist aesthetics partially inspired by this guitar:
