I love that song but never really crossed my mind to play it in the genre. I will now, thanks for asking!
And Willie Nelson is a huge Django fan who often plays Nuages and other Django tunes in concert. He released a very good album with Merle Haggard called Django and Jimmy which starts with the lyric ‘I'm a kid with a guitar trying to play "Nuages”.
So a Gypsy Jazz jazz version of Crazy makes perfect sense.
