Other than the montning differefnces, are there any differences in the performance and/or tone between these two pickups?

We have both of these in my band. I find that the other guitar player's Pure Mac starts to feedback at lower volumes than my Pure Floating. We have different guitars so I can't speak to differences in tone.

    Post installation report:

Pure Floating sounds pretty darn good in the Gitane DG310 Lulo, however...

It doesn't like shims. OK, I use the poor man's shim, Fender 358 celluloid pick. I wanted to raise the bass side a little, so I tried the pick-shim above and below the K&K wafer. The pickup just didn't like it, and the output was greatly reduced. It liked the bridge sitting right on top of the pickup, which is up against the soundboard.

Great, now I need a new bridge....
