Michael, I definately see what your saying. Tchan-Tchouu does the folk thing extremley well. I enjoy his waltz playing almost if not more so than I enjoy any one elses. I just think that "ATTYA" solo is really cool. I also really enjoy Moreno's playing too though.

Hey Ted, Did Elek Bacsik do any recording? If so is any of his stuff available?I have heard his name mentioned around before but I've never heard anything from him.

As luck would have it, I'm listening to Guitar Conceptions as I write this. Like Ted alluded to, it's much more modern jazz than jazz manouche (though of course the liner notes mention Django):

"Of gypsy origins, he was supposedly one of Django Reinhardt's distant cousins-'We're Bohemians, we're all more or less related'-but Charlie Parker and Dizzy gillespie fascinated him, and his idols were Tal Farlow and Laurindo Almeida, the 'maximum guitarist'..."

Still, it's a good listen!

Sorry for bringing this 5 year old thread back to life, BUT

I would like to know if theres any chance that Bousquets "Hommage a Django" album has been reissued or is available anywhere on this planet? Can't find it anywhere.
