Hi there, if your guitar has a plastic nut you may want to replace it with a bone nut, just be sure to get the slots deep enough to prevent buzzing on the zero fret.

Most GJ guitars employ the zero fret. If your guitar has a zero fret the nut material will have little to no effect on the tone of the guitar.
