New round of the Sparring Sessions with the unstoppable Fede Álvarez on alto sax!! This time, we’ve stepped into bebop territory with “Around the Corner”, a composition by pianist Barry Harris.
One of the cornerstones of our Jazz contra les cordes project is building a repertoire of standards written after Django Reinhardt’s death, bringing the language of hard bop and post-bop into the acoustic sound and spirit of gypsy jazz.
