Hi all, This festival has just passed seemingly without mention on the forum. A friend of mine from the UK attended and I heard a little of his experiences... they have a Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/FestivalDjangoReinhardt/ . Maybe others in this group were there, and can share some photos/videos/own experiences for those of us to far away to attend!!

I was there from Tuesday to Sunday. The weather was extremely hot (the hottest days in France since they started keeping records): over 100 degrees Fahrenheit for several days in a row. That made it unpleasant and kind of a weird vibe, as basically nobody was jamming at Samoreau during the day. Some people were worried their instruments would be damaged by the heat.

With that said, plenty of good jams were to be had once it got dark and slightly cooler. :)

As for the festival itself: Saturday's festival was completely canceled due to a potential thunderstorm (which didn't end up happening, or at least not in that exact part of France). I feel bad for the musicians who'd been invited to play that day but didn't end up getting to do it. That was the only day I had a ticket for, so unfortunately I didn't get to see any of the actual festival...only the Samoreau campsite scene.
