Sam and Fapy / pickup rig

Ok so at DIJ through lots of luck, Sam and Fapy played my guitars for a solid hour and a half. It was pretty rad.

I came very close to not getting things set up but realized I had a bum patch cable.

It sounds fine here but the phone doesn't catch it...the amplified sound was perfect.

Sam is playing through the NVtone and the internal piezo with IR. Either one sounds pretty good on their own but mixed together they are really amazing. The mic is a little bright by itself, the piezo a little dark after the IR.

Both are run into a little mixing board. I would have definitely benefited by having more eq, parametric would have been the best. I only had a high and low control.

Fapy is playing only through the humbucker, which is a Stewmac basic humbucker, I have had really good results with these.

NVtone has these new felt dampers for the tips of the microphones and I'm hoping they might make the mic more useable on its own.

Anyway, it was cool af. I was psyched, someone came up to me the next day and didn't realize Sam was amplified.

That NVtone + IR setup is going to be hard to beat for people who want the acoustic sound of their guitar. It really sounds great. I like the sound of the humbucker, I bet running it through a nice vintage style tube amp (or IR of one) would take it to the next level.
