My Parisian Vacation

I'm in Paris doing some guitar pushing. Not sure if people in the states know Marius Bojan but he's a killer player with a super creative style.

I have a lot of videos to look through but this one is nice, the bar was very noisy, including me in the background.

Sounds good. I will be in Paris next week, any tips on who is playing where?

parisjazzclub.net has a lot of what is going on, but not everything.

there's an open jam session at the Green Linnet on Sunday nights. Also on Sundays is the Brunard Connexion at Monk Taverne De Cluny which is absolutely not to be missed, particularly if you can stay late, as there is often heavy hitters sitting in. Monk also has stuff on Wednesday or Thursday, check the calendar.

Individual players post stuff on their instagram. Daniel John Martin (violinist) hosts a lot of things regularly, he's at a place called Le Saint Jean every Thursday I think. This week he had Romane.

There's a lot of music happening at little restaurants and stuff, that's mostly on instagram, sometimes it's not promoted at all.

The Melville is a fancy restaurant that has music regularly.

I really like Sunset Sunside for more straight ahead jazz. New Morning has music (Birelli played last night but it was sold out).

Anyway, Parisjazzclub.net is a great place to start but if you ask people when you go out you might find out about something special. Piano Vache is another place.

There was a place called L'Apostrophe that had really great music and a great vibe, it seems like they are not having music but I'm not sure.

Sure do know Marius! He plays at Au Clairon with Julien sometimes (and they have just recently put out some new music together, which is well worth a listen). Jealous of your trip!

It is so crazy here, tomorrow Hugo Guezbar, Aurore Voilque and Marius are all playing at different places at the same time. I'd like to go to all three, maybe I can make two.

I have a bunch of great videos I'll post, mostly of Marius.

Here's Robin Pouvreau on my guitar with Marius and Daniel John Martin

Marius ended up buying my guitar, it's such a pleasure, he'd be the sort of player I designed my guitars for.

I'm still working on permissions for putting out some of the videos I took, this one is unlisted currently but I thought you'd all dig it. Marius tells me the other player is Vincent Maillet who I don't see any info on but man...he kills it. Marius is really rocking the pickup here.
