Anyone near Grass Valley, CA?

I've been kicking around the idea of trying to start some kind of Hot Club style project for a while now.

I have most of the pieces except a rhythm player familiar with the style. Anyone near Grass Valley?

My friend Adam Payne used to live in Grass Valley, but he moved to the east coast. I know he was playing with some folks out that way, so I think there was a few players.

I don't know of anyone, but when I looked up Grass Valley to see if it's close to people I know, I also found out there's a place called Tough and Ready!

I went to college with a guy (1 of 7 brothers) from Grass Valley. He would always say he was from "near Tahoe." One summer, when I was traveling solo through a small Belgium town (Namur), I met two young American women that ended up staying at the same hostel as me. I asked where they were from and one said "near Tahoe." Wanting to sound like a was a sophisticated man of the world, I casually asked, "Oh, near Grass Valley?" though I had been to neither city. Her indifference towards me turned to surprise and happiness that I knew her hometown and the ice was broken. When I later mentioned my good friend's name, her jaw dropped even further when she said, "I went to prom with him!" True story. Small world.

A guitar playing buddy of mine from Sacramento is going to pick up a Selmer-style guitar and join me. Should be fun!

Yeah Nevada City is like 10 minutes away. There is a guy named Norm that has a group there. I sat in with them like a year ago. I wonder if that was who you met?

But yeah if you have their info that would be great!
