New bridge

quinngquinng Miamisburg Ohio New Altimira M01, dell arte basic 503

So I've been wanting to experiment with a new a bridge. I have 0 woodworking skills in that regard, I build speaker cabinets but this definitely feels different. I messaged He who shall not be named some bridges and he said he had some drop in replacements for my stringphonic but I have yet to hear back from him for months about me buying one. I see that there's blanks on here and my local guy surprisingly doesn't feel comfortable enough doing that, he's never made one before.

Just seeing what my options are , seems like I'll have to drive a state or two away to find someone.

Does Stringphonic have bridges available? Because that's where I would start, straight from the luthier/manufacturer - had to get a replacement bridge for my old Park Encore due to a chip in it and after sending her measurements, Shelley made me a new one...which turned out to basically be identical to the original bridge, just a perfectly seamless replacement.

If not, Michael has bridges available as well, although be aware they're blanks so you'd still need a luthier to carve out the string "slots" (or whatever the technical term is).

I sent them a message as well have t heard back from them, Michael has some DuPont bridges that just need the slots filed and said it should be a good improvement, my tech said he's got stuff to make some shims and we're gonna try that first , I'll still probably order one of these DuPont bridges , I can't help but experimenting

The Dupont bridges look nice. I don't like bridges with the stepped compensation, they are way too heavy to me.

Stringphonic bridge for their guitar sounds good. You still should have the feet fit to the top, might only be a few swipes with sandpaper.

Harry from Stringphonic is easy to work with I'm sure he'll help if you want one of their bridges.

If you want to experiment with shims you can easily do that yourself. If you have a local Woodcraft store (or something similar) they'll have wood veneer you can use but I've also used things like thick cardstock and that worked fine on my guitar. It can be fun to try different materials and see if you can hear a difference.
