I didn't read all the posts so sorry if I reiterate some info:
The tool you need is about a 3mm hex. A long one is best but if you have a short one that will work for the D hole as you can get your hand in there. The wrench that comes with the Gitane does not fit well some times and does not have a size on it. Most of the time a 3mm works but you might need a 3.5mm. It is hit and miss with the size Saga uses for the adjusting barrel. The best ones to use are the one with the "ball" style end as you can get them in at an angle. But with the large D hole your going to have a better time adjusting then with the small O hole. To bring the relief up go clock wise and you can sight down the neck as you go to see your work in progress. The wood will change over the next few days a bit so don't go to far. But if you do just make adjustments as the days go on. Really unless you crank the rod supper far your not going to hurt your guitar neck.
Let me know if you need more info. I'm happy to help.
Cheers,
Josh
Of all the guitars I've owned, very, very few came w/a truss rod wrench - and there doesn't seem to be a standard size, either, so.. it's off to the hardware store..
