Thanks all and sorry for my "mandolin not relevant" comment. Of course it could be very relevant in the context of GJ music generally but I was (in my typical long-winded way) trying to answer the original question about how do Di Mauro guitars sound compared to the other known names, and more particularly the playability. In fact I had two of those mandolins and while I do not pretend to be much of a player I found them both far more playable than the guitars.
BTW although I did have the Joseph Jr version mentioned I have had no experience of any of Joseph Di Mauro the elder's guitars so cannot comment on how they might compare to Antoine's.
And further into the Di Mauros; yes Bill I actually had two of the mandolins, both since sold to appreciative owners here in Australia. Then there was also another Poema parlor guitar, and a Spanish and here is a photo of the later Joseph Jr J102E.
Anyway, although there are many others I am now without any Di Mauros although I would have that last one back if offered.
I would like to correct something I said in this post, for information to people owning vintage instrument. I detected that the 11 gauge were slightly increasing the action over some months, certainly in reason of the too high tension. Then I went back to 10s argie.
I'm selling my amazing Joseph Di Mauro the elder bouche en couer when the right offer hits.
very easy neck ( i've modeled two guitars that I've commissioned with Craig Baumgarner off of this particular neck, which is very comfortable). It's more flat and not too round or chunky.
The best sounding guitar I have, but I rarely take it out to gigs because of it value and not wanting to damage it.

It's listed on reverb.
