Phew lot of thoughts, props to anyone who cares to read this
So I saw Stephane wrembel the other day in small jazz club in Cincinnati, he did more of his "electric" set, played maybe a couple of his gypsy compositions and echoes of Spain , the rest was just a wild musical journey that I have not experienced in a long time. I had been questioning my direction on my path through gypsy jazz and what I want to eventually bring doing with it. Stephane answered that for me in so many ways, he can obviously play very "traditional sounding" but his other stuff is what really inspired me, seeing him with a small tube amp and pedalboard really helped me not feeling alone in going a different more non traditional route.
So I've been using a stringphonic503 basic that I got from @geese_com , with a krivo and running my line6 hx stomp with all kinds of effects and stuff going, it's been amazing and I want to do more with my setup, I'd like to either drill a hole and make the krivo permanent, I hate how long the cord is and I always end up stepping on it or it getting yanked out and the cord comes out from the center of the pickup makes it a little harder to get shoved in the hole, I was considering this lace ultra slim that I've seen on here and seems it would fit better for this application, I was curious if anyone's tried one, secondly I purchased a pro70 for pretty much free and I got a converter cord for it to run into the line6 and change the settings so it it accepts the mic input but I still have to crank it all the way to get any volume the effects actually sound surprisingly well though..I was trying to find a way to do this in stereo with the line6 some kind of other preamp perhaps to run into it, it seems like the tone Dexter is the way to go that allows I me to plug both magnetic and a mic in and it has a send return so I could plug the line6 in there and use all the reverbs and delays from it.
Either way I feel so much more inspired and creative to actually starting writing some songs again, I can't ever imagine playing any other guitars now, I feel finally at home with a instrument
Anyone else come from the electric world and can't help but to mess around with her stuff more than necessary.

I definitely came from the electric guitar world. But in this genre I keep it straightforward. I like the acoustic sound of my and other guitars. But you should absolutely go and explore. Whatever comes to your mind, go for it. Lately I've been wanting to plug into my old Roland VG8 and explore some synth sounds.
I take lessons with Stephane and in full transparency, have purchased many of the pedals he also uses. Right now I'm honestly just using the Styrmon Flint reverb pedal and EQ, but it's fun to see what happens when you turn on the octave pedal. I don't have Stephane's creativity, but he creates some really incredible adventures with his playing and use of unconvential pedals in this genre. But Stephane would be the first to tell you he's not trying to be Django, as much as that language is central to his playing identity.
Awesome, I was thinking about signing up for one his lessons, how is he for a teacher?
He is easily the best teacher I've had. I can't say enough about what I've learned. And he's a great dude. He closes lessons for the summer soon, so grab a slot when you can!
