We've a great opportunity to play acoustically and be mic'd with quality equipment and still give us a little sonic help in a small room, and even some nice sound feedback from stage monitors. The guitars may be mic'd a little closer because of difference in volume from violin and accordion.
Any thoughts on mic placement in front of my instrument? I'll be using my Di Mauro Chorus style JWC guitar with F-holes. It's a little darker than many guitars, but it can really sing on solos played a little closer to the bridge. There's a small picture of my guitar as part of my profile, if you want to see it.

My suggestion would be 10 to 25 cm over the green area, for the exact position move around a little bit.
I can't say I know the first thing about sound recording, but when we recorded our concert earlier this year, the sound guy wanted the mic aiming right about at the neck/body join. It was a really wet room, but the sound came out really nice. He seemed to know what he was doing. It might be worth trying?
I'll also add that the sound guy did have me plug my guitar directly into some piece of equipment that he had. So I think he had a recording of the piezo (no amp) and then the mic recording to work with in the mix. @Buco might be able to explain better as he has more audio knowledge than I do.
Yes, in our live recording, what's in the final mix for guitars is a blend between mics and built-in pickups.
Aiming where the neck meets the body is kinda standard. This is how I mic Ivanovski, most of the time. Then I tweak, closer to 10-12th fret or 14th feet. 6-12" away. I try a few different spots and see what I like.
What Willie pointed out is how I mic my Martin dread. It's very helpful with avoiding recording that boom and bass that dreadnoughts have and this Martin has it in spades. With this position I'll get a recorded sound that acoustically will be closer to "orchestra" models.
Same with a Selmer style guitar, this placement will help if the aforementioned position gives too much bass in the recording. Sometimes I'll use this with Ivanovski as well. It's just a lot easier for me to physically place the mic where I need it when recording at home with laptop sitting in front of me.
