I'm putting this song to rest for the day.....this took a minute to relearn in B minor. Kind of hard to get this right. Also I don't really like posting myself playing here, but the discussion on this tune was appreciated.
Regarding the licks, keep in mind these are not intended as "instruction". They are more of a musical diary in video form, it allows me to go back and access the musical idea quicker and hopefully begin to use it more. After learning a lot of solos I realized a lot of the elements of the solos really weren't making it into my solos. This is my way of making it happen. I feel like it is a similar approach to what Gonzalo did with his "How I Learned". This is just easier than studying of his book because they are phrases of my choosing which makes it more personal.

I decided recently I'm only going to learn bits that interest me. I came to believe that if you learn the whole solo, you still have to go through the process of pulling out small bits from it and then practice those separately to incorporate them into your playing. If you don't do this extra step, the only benefit you'll get out of learning the whole solo is just that, you can now play a whole solo by so and so.
I like those Django dominants, I'll learn one of them.

Yeah, me too.
Some great phrases there in small bites and with their context which is all very helpful.
