Hi guys,

saw Adrien play at Monk with an F hole guitar. Sounded amazing. Anyone know what it is??? See image below.

I though maybe an electric Favino?? No idea really though.

Cheers

There is really nothing special about this guitar. Adrien sounds great and so does the room. Nice hall reverb

There may be nothing "special" about Adrien's Gerome but there is nothing wrong with it either. I know it is not a popular view among the guitar snobs that sometimes turn up on here, but as I always say most of what we hear is the player rather than the instrument. Yes, if someone has paid mucho $$$$ for a high end guitar, whether a top name or a rare vintage they have to convince themselves they can hear some justification for the expense but the real talent can make what would otherwise be regarded as an 'ordinary' or 'budget' guitar sound great. What Adrien does there most of us could not do with a custom Dupont, Barault (or insert favourite name here). There are many examples on YouTube of the greats playing ordinary or borrowed guitars and making them sound good.

Was Gerome the maker who sometimes used an extremely low (rounded) fretboard radius? I've always been curious about them, I love the aesthetic, but not sure how playable they'd be.

But I could be mistaken or maybe they aren't all like that.

You basically just said what I previously stated but with a lot more words.

Nice that you have found each other! Both so gentle in tone, a cultivated conversation, pure joy to read!

Thanks. I was not arguing the point but many comments on here in the past have tended to take the name on the headstock more seriously than the player's input. On the other hand I have had many guitars down the years, some by recognised names, others cheapies, but I know I can not make them sing the as well as the greats due to a lack of talent.
