A friend sent me an excerpt from a French documentary (see still below) that I recall was discussed here a while back. But I can't locate the thread now.
It looks to be from the 1960s and is a short about 3 "gitane" brothers practising django material.
I'd like to find more info about it if possible.

If I recall correctly the three brothers are Coco Briaval and his brothers. I have a poor quality copy somewhere in my box of VHS tapes.
Scot will know!
That was quick - many thanks!
That's enough to guide me to the thread from 2023 that links to good quality version of the documentary.
Nice short film from 1967 on the three Briaval brothers

Coco now 76 is still going strong as is his brother on the drums.
More info about the brothers in French Wikipedia.

60 years later.
A charming documentary - thanks Willie.
They explain that they hadn't seen the original again until recently when one of their daughters came across it.
Their family was originally of Italian origin and they are Piedmontese Sinti.
Here is one of Coco's old LPs, with his brothers Gilbert and René and others. I have another somewhere, I will have to dig it out, it has been a while.....
