Until MikeK starts up his trivia posts again, here's a bit of fun: how many quotes are there in this version of Appel Indirect ?! I've counted 11 (that's about on par with a Joscho Stephan solo!)
Show me what you got (let's make it max 2 per person), I'll start with:
0:38 Impressions

Something Django at 1:05 that I couldn't remember what...Few of the easy ones
1:33 What Is This Thing Called Love
1:50 Sweet Georgia Brown
Do I hear the Simpsons theme in there somewhere? Otherwise, ~1:53 sounds like
Minor BluesArtillerie Lourde sped up.1.27 Blues for Ike
1.40 Freedom Jazz Dance
Reminds me of this performance by Sven Asmussen. It's full of quotes we all are familiar with. Were audiences just more appreciative of music back in the day? I wonder how many melodies would be lost on audiences today. But I guess they are quoting the popular music of that time, so it had mass appeal
BTW, does anyone know the quote at 2:36-2:45? Some classical quote, maybe Mozart?
1.08 flight of bumblebee?
Wow, you guys are breezing through them! Keep it up! I've only got 4 left
@tbleen funny video, hadn't seen it (or even heard of these guys!) 2:36 is the third man theme, wasn't it? or am I misunderstanding which part
@wim Thank you!
Simultaneously with "Festival 48" haha
As you said, just quoting popular music of the time. Makes you think...what song could you drop a quote from "Not Like Us" into?😂 Could there be anything more "au courant?"
1.30 Fur Elise 😊
