I felt worse summers than Chicago and worse winter days elsewhere. But there aren't many places I've been to where you get both seasons on the extreme side. Usually if one is bad the other is mild. In Chicago both are on the verge of what a person can bear. I've had days when I was walking down the street in the winter and had to walk inside some store for a few minutes because my face would physically hurt. And summers when you walk into the street from an air-conditioned space and the first few breaths felt like I'm breathing through a tiny straw
Somehow though, Paul, when you said Chicago I immediately saw it as your city.

In Milwaukee so not exactly the same but those winter wind tunnels are just as crazy up here too...walking through them at the Miller brewery as a contractor has given me mild frost bite on my corneas before (to prevent, now I walk backwards through the wind when it's really bad lol)
the Boston of my 20s without a car was cold af. I didn't hate it. It's now generally much warmer in the Northeast though. And/or having a car makes a huge difference.
This woman, who is very funny, thinks Chicago is a good bet.
Your Risto didn't seem to like the cold Chicago winter, either. 😔
But, yeah, the Midwest gets those absolutely frigid, windy, lake effect snowy winter days and then the really hot, humid, sticky summers. But the people are usually pretty nice (at least in WI) and the other 2 seasons are wonderful.
@voutoreenie Just seeing this famous Chicago picture gives my eyeballs frostbite!

A friend has it for a trial. He's not a Django guy so who knows. If it comes back I'll make some samples.
I think I will stay here till June even though I hate it here.
Yeah, you wouldn't want to miss those hot, humid summers in Chicago! 😂
Maine summers have started to be relatively unpleasant tbh. Still much nicer but not that nice.

I dunno, it's worse than Baltimore? Baltimore is pretty hellish.
Thanks for that. I've actually thought for a long time that I should probably move there. Like off and on for 20 years. It's a big move for me...
