Just saw this on my Facebook feed. Jon Larsen formerly of the Hot Club of Norway has made some amazing and important scientific discoveries concerning micrometeorites. He was actually featured in a Werner Herzog film about meteorites a few years back.

    Yeah, I found a "how to" once to find meteors in your backyard. It is pretty simple and involved just leaving a glass pan of water in your backyard over night and then a magnet to find the metallic meteorites. I couldn't find that how-to, but found this one from Popular Science. It is similar, but not involving the water. It also references Jon's page. Pretty cool stuff!
