A quick Google search for Mohamed Chaffa luthier came up with some nice looking lutes from Algeria.

Could be cheap and this sort of thing appeals to me but the cost of shipping to Australia means I will not be bidding.

    Interesting that the top looks like a 2 piece top but not split lengthwise as is typical, but rather widthwise. Diamond shaped soundhole of which the decorative binding overlaps that joining seam. Also looks like a 12-string strung with only six?
