It's an odd one for me to fit into, as I played "American jazz" for years before I got into Django's music. So improvising for me is something I can usually do with little preparation, and I probably know 200 tunes, but not 200 GYPSY tunes. So I feel like I'm a capable player in many regards, but I'd probably be terrible at a jam because I just don't have a big enough repertoire of "gypsy tunes." Or I'd be that loser looking at a chord chart for a tune everyone else knows.
Always something to work on...guess I got my New Years resolution for this year, a month late:)
