Gypsy players - Who in your opinion in the US comes the closest to really getting the sound/ style of gypsy lead playing? I was listening to some Jazz Manouche playlists on Spotify and it seems once they (American bands) got past the first chorus and/or beyond the melody, their solos were nothing like the European players…

I'm surprised nobody brought up John Jorgenson. Great composer, Great soloist and has his own distinct solo style. Also evan perri from the hot club of Detroit- strong player
