Greetings,I am looking for suggestions on recordings of the composition "Tzigane". I believe it was written by Maurice Ravel. One of my violinists played it the other day at rehearsal.I have no recordings of it in my collection. I could use a chord chart for it also (before I buy a CD with a good version of it).
Thanks,
Allin

    Allin,

I might have it. I am a former member of NYC Ballet, and the choreographer/ballet master and founder of the company was George Balanchine. He choreographed a beautiful ballet to this music. You might want to put in a search in that regard, but in the meantime, I'll search my music and see if I have it.

    best,
    David

The version for violin & piano is on a fine CD of French music by Cho Liang Lin and Paul Crossley from SONY--it has all of Ravel's music for these instruments. The orchestral version is more common--I'd go for Perlman on that.
