NAMM Show Reports?

I see Michael is closing shop to attend the NAMM Show, Jan22-25. Am wondering if Django Books has a booth, or if M is just attending? Either way would like to know which GJ companies or luthiers are exhibiting and a report from the show (with photos would be great). I attended a few years ago and spent half the day finding a parking spot and shuttle to the main hall. A lot to take in, but some great guitars mixed in with all the keyboards, PA's, amps, pedals, rock stars, etc, etc. If you're not a dealer they don't want to know you and it's not easy to get a pass. There will probably be some reports posted on YouTube over the next few days.
Swang on,

I told Michael about the Italian company EKO, and their 2 gipsy models: the EVO GIPSY and NXT GIPSY guitars. They are in Anaheim at NAMM. They look interesting, and VERY affordable. Hopefully he will give us an update!!

I hung out with Hanson from Altamira. He is continuing to improve his instruments, the latest ones are better than ever!

I don't know about the States but EKO guitars have been around in the UK since the 60's. The Ranger was pretty common, and in fact was the only acoustic guitar n many shops at the time! Lol. I''ve played the Evo Gipsy. It has a fat but square neck, so not my cup of tea... I like mine a little rounder. Sound was ok but it was in need of a set up. Great looking though, they've really got that art deco look.

Thanks for the report @shemakimoo - haven't heard any reports of how they play or sound. At the very least, they may be a great travel guitar for the price!

NAMM 2015 was great! I missed Michael and those EKO guitars though. Wish I had seen them since there are so few gypsy guitars among all the cheesy rock metal stuff there... Had some great jams at Altamira and Saga booths with Tommy, Leah, Ray, Kale, Gage, Luca, Jeff and with Doug Martin at Eastman Guitars.. Also at the National Resophonic, Martin and D'Angelico booths. Got to meet George Benson at the bar in the Hilton Hotel!

But we need more Gypsy jazz representation there! I know it's not easy to get a pass but it's worth it if you can

How does one get a pass? Are they only available through merchants and distributors? I'm close enough to Nashville to go, so I'd love to get in.

Bopster, if you know anyone in the manufacturing or dist'n or retail end of the music biz you can beg for a pass (at least that's what I do).

Yeah - what's summer NAMM like? I know it's much smaller. But then Nashville is a heck of a lot easier for me than California!
