power in eu and gb is 220-240 volt alternating current which altyernates 50 times a second as opposed to 60 times over here. If the power supply inside the amp isn't optimized for both, if you use an external transformer one MIGHT get a 50 hz buzz in the background. I think with modern equipment that is much less likely than with older tube stuff.
