Victor Horky’s Silk Road Swing ft. Christiaan van Hemert in concert w/Nuages The sixth installment in the 2017-2018 Manouche NW concert series presents Victor Horky’s Silk Road Swing ft. Christiaan van Hemert-an evening of Gypsy jazz, swing, & bebop. Hosted by Nuages, located at the Unity Spiritual Center (1095 Telegraph Road) on March 10, 7:30-9:30pm. Guitarist and bandleader Victor Horky invites violinist Christiaan van Hemert to bring to life the swingin’ Gypsy jazz compositions of Django Reinhardt, jazz standards, and Christiaan’s own compositions for the listening pleasure of the guests of Manouche NW Christiaan is one of the premier violinists in the current Gypsy jazz scene and often performs as a guest of the Rosenberg Trio and alongside Stochelo Rosenberg in different groups. He has played with countless high profile Gypsy jazz artists among which are Mozes Rosenberg, Paulus Schafer, Joscho Stefan, Fapy Lafertin, Tchavolo Schmitt, Roby Lakatos, Remi Harris, Gary Potter and many others.
