Victor Horky invites Christiaan van Hemert to present the compositions of Django Reinhardt, jazz standards and Christiaan’s own compositions and for the listening and dancing pleasure of the guests at the Musicquarium. Victor is a local musician and swing dancer, as well as leader for the band “Silk Road Swing”. Special guest Christiaan van Hemert hails from the Hague Netherlands. Christiaan graduated with honors in violin and double bass from the conservatories in Utrecht, Rotterdam and The Hague. Later, Christiaan began performing jazz violin with high-profile artists such as the Rosenberg Trio, Mozes Rosenberg, Roby Lakatos, Alfonso Ponticelli, Tchavolo Schmitt, Lollo Meier and Paulus Schafer. Indulge yourself in the beautiful melodies and powerful rhythms of gypsy jazz that originated so long ago!
