I'd like to buy a Blue Chip that is similar to the Wegen Gypsy Jazz 3.5, and perhaps one that is great for gypsy rhythm playing. Any recommendations?
It's a different pick then a Wegen, I feel you get a smoother sound without the pick noise with a thinner pick. I believe I recommend going with the KS60 60/1000 of an inch(1.5mm) $35.00 about the size of a Quarter. same as Jay @jazzaferri
The thickest pick I believe they sell is 100 series
100/1000 of an inch(2.5mm) thickness at $75.00 OUTCH
$-)
I have a couple of large jazz 80's that I don't use anymore The pointy end works fine for lead and the corner of the edge does a nice job for rhythm. I'd let them go for $30 each if anyone wants to try one at a discount.
The Magic really starts to happen when you can play it with your eyes closed
