Its hard to explain, but you are basically playing "1-2-3...1-2-3...1-2-3...etc." . You need to be playing something more like "1-2-3-4" but with the 1 and 3 being a combined super quick up-down stroke and the 2 and 4 being a larger down stroke. There are probably lots of videos on Youtube that show this.
Maybe someone else can explain better?
This guys video shows what I am talking about but its still not perfect. I think it could sound "tighter" with some slight adjustment: http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=dQRMk4pwgEY
I would recommend also trying to play rhythm along to some of Stephane Wrembels jam tracks. You can get them on his site.
Even more importantly, practice to a metronome, with the metronome beating on the 2 and 4. When you play to a metronome it becomes VERY clear where the mistakes are. The metronome never lies to you but people DO. http://www.metronomeonline.com/

Thanks, I bought a Metronome yesterday (Intelli IMT 020). Lol, I always practice tunes with the backing tracks of Stephan Wrembel and Nuages de Swing. Thanks
I can't see your video, but since you seem to be a beginner, I would start to play rhythm without the upstroke and only working on gettin well to "brush" the strings on 1-3 and whip them on 2-4 without letting the strings ring with the left hand.
The upstroke is fun and addictive at first, but in fact many people don't always use it. One of Bireli Lagrene's short video give you a great overview of the different techniques you could use.
You'll find here series of videos from various players, see if you can grab something out of them and get a good feeling of what to do. Check their related videos too.. lessons 2, 3...

I will post another vid in 30 minutes
Maybey this one is better ?
1. Left Hand , damps the strings
Right Hand, small upstroke
2. Left Hand, presses down on the strings
Right Hand, small downstroke on bass strings
2.5 Left Hand, damps the strings
3. Left Hand, presses down on the strings
Right Hand, LARGE downstroke !
REPEAT
The first beat is really fast the up down stroke like , tada...TA..tada...Ta
That is for imitating the Hi-Hat Rhythm
If there are 4 beats (in the space 0.0-4.0) then la Pompe goes like this:
0.8- small upstroke hitting 4 high strings only
1.0- downstroke starts
1.2 -small downstroke finishes hitting 4 high strings only
2.0 - large downstroke starting a few inches above the low E string nicely sweeping all 6 strings evenly
2.8- small upstroke hitting 4 high strings only
3.0- downstroke starts
3.2 -small downstroke finishes hitting 4 high strings only
4.0 - large downstroke starting a few inches above the low E string nicely sweeping all 6 strings evenly
THANKS THANKS THANKS ! But the numbers in my post didnt mean the beats, it was number per step
