Holy crap, I've had TE tuner for years and never knew it can play a drone! My daughter used to play with the sound wheel when she was younger, I never saw any use for it myself. Now I saw the "sustain" button. You can set it up to play a chord too. "Tambura" on the second octave sounds pretty good as a drone. Hello new practice tool.

yeah another thing I never use but should...

it's also great for ear training...Put a 1 and 5 drone and then sing a chromatic scale against it. Stuff like that.

That's one of the things I wanted to practice, play the root note and then practice singing chord tones against it. That's what I just did for a minute. I was so close to buy a freeze pedal just for that but never decided to go for it.

I've done that shit in the past and used to be pretty good at it. Wandering around a chromatic scale against a drone. It was very meditative. Also I did it when I was driving a lot.

as an aside, this book is fucking awesome for understanding how music works and is based around singing to a drone. Highly recommended:
