I was wondering what the deal is with this compilation (again, thank you for the heads-up) and found it's everything that Django recorded outside of Hot Club, with big band featuring American jazz expats living in Paris as soloists. So you can hear Django as both accompanist and soloist.

and here (look in the description box). Even though the spacing is all messed up and in the part 2 they propagate the myth of Django's American tour being a total failure from every angle, it's still informative read.
I still don't understand how Django's guitar could be heard during this all acoustic period especially when surrounded with so many other instruments. I can't wrap my head around it...
