@Joonas if you asked me two days ago I'd say the same, short and round. I use the main tip on Killy pick but now it's worn out some so it's rounder than before. When I just got I was using side tip. It's been the same with every other pick for many years, short and round. Mostly because I really like the warmth of tone that you get.

    But!

This Noushe pick sticks out about 11mm and playing with it feels a lot more effortless. And contrary to what I always believed, I feel I have better control to play cleanly. Killy sticks out 8mm or so on the main tip. G4 pick 7mm. And side tip of Dunlop Primetone (same shape as Gator) about 6mm.

@JasonS I've used Big City for a while. At this point I don't remember what made me switch away from them. It makes sense to feel it puts more power into strings because when using the reststroke, the pick is like a lever. The longer the lever, the more power.

I just played a few solo excerpts that I've been practicing for years to get up to their tempo (one from Oli and one from Jimmy R) and I'll be damned if it wasn't easier and a touch cleaner. And this is weird, I felt confident about pushing through regardless, where as before there's always some mental hesitation. I know there's people out there shaking their head like "man, this guy..." lol But it is what it is, I'm sharing what I felt. It could be something new and shiny that'll wear off in a few days, we'll see.

@Joonas The 1.8mm is what I use. I've tried the 2.5mm but didn't find it as nimble for GJ. I normally use picks in the 3mm range on electric so I was surprised the 1.8mm seemed to work for me.

Found this at the beach this morning - what a pity the material is brick:
