Yes Seattle. Maybe I'll try that. I'm not sure how big they are and whether they are going to have many guitars lying around or not. Maybe I'll give it a few days and if the tracking doesn't update, I'll call.
I wouldn't wait. Just call them. I just read this on their website page. Who knows, maybe that was exactly why my guitar sat there until I called.
Heads-Up
U.S. Customs and Border Protection does not inform importers of the arrival of cargo or freight. When cargo or freight arrives at a U.S. port of entry, it is the responsibility of the shipper or a designated agent to inform the importer of its arrival. However, proper notification does not always happen, particularly, if the shipper has incomplete contact information for you, the importer. Therefore, it is important to find out the scheduled arrival date of your import and follow-up.
If you are not notified that your goods have arrived and you or your broker have not presented the proper paperwork to CBP within 15 days of your goods' arrival, your goods will be transferred to a warehouse, and you will be liable for storage charges.
Ah, i finally found a different tracking site where it says it cleared customs on the 20th and the expected delivery was on the 21st. And it sounds like it's going to be delivered by USPS. So it's probably in transit towards you. Any minute now!
Yes, Bucco, I saw the same thing. I'm just worried because there are no expected arrival date given like usual. But you are right, if it cleared customs, it should get here any time soon now. I did it in an inquiry with USPS though, waiting to see what they have to say.
Now the whole thing makes more sense to me. I got thrown off because when I just put the tracking number into the search engine, USPS was one of the top hits but when I clicked on it, the site said it couldn't find that tracking number (today when I searched the tracking number on their site, it found it). Then soon after another thing that threw me off was that Macedonian Post only shows that it arrived at US Customs and that's where the info stops. So I thought it got held up there. But that's because it was their responsibility only up to that point. Then I finally saw the entire info, including the 21st delivery estimate. I believe the 21st delivery was only an estimate. Another tracking site said that based on the previous similar situations, once the package has cleared the customs, average delivery is 3-5 days. So they could be knocking on your door today but if not then either tomorrow or Thursday.
By the way, I texted Risto this morning and he said just give it a few more days, lol

A great example of what this community is all about - looking out for each other and offering help. Great!!!
I really appreciate everybody here. This whole saga really makes me anticipate playing that guitar even more. I've also managed to sold that old French guitar locally, so I don't have any GJ guitar right now to play with.
The guitar... arrived! I didn't get back to my apartment in time for the office's closing so I'll have to get it tomorrow unfortunately, but I'm relieved to know that its here. Will report back on impressions tomorrow!

I'm holding thumbs for your guitar to arrive. I liked it from the photos and hope that everything will be fine.
