It was great seeing people last week. I was playing the basement on Saturday night with Buco and a bunch of other people and just thinking to myself, this is a really nice group of people. It's a bit odd to have friends you only see once a year but I think it's my 7th year running and now I know some people pretty well.
Highlights for me were hanging out with Giacomo who is just a disarmingly friendly and helpful person and such an insane musician. Tcha tore my guitar a new one one night. Paulus was really lovely to hang around and a great teacher and I think I got a new understanding of the OG way of teaching licks and material by rote from him. Sally Baby was a really nice addition and brought a lot of New Orleans to the mix.
I have some videos to go through, I didn't take all that many. Here's Tcha and Sally Baby on St Louis Blues, Paulus is playing my guitar.

Yeah!!! Keep the videos coming
Here's another one:
It was nice meeting you, Pau! I had a great week but it’s going to take a while to catch up on sleep after all that!
@paulmcevoy75 Nice jamming with you on Saturday night!
Django In June was great yet again — Andrew does such a great job of setting everything up for success.

I took a few of your sessions - got a lot from you. You emphasis technique and tone which can't be learned via book or even YouTube. Thanks.
I had a similar experience with Andrew Brown. He encouraged me to attend his class even though it was level 1, because he said I could learn alternate chord voicings lots of different places. His focus was on tone production which you really need to learn in face to face.
First time there and it was incredible! Was at first a bit star struck at seeing some of my favorite YT personalities in the flesh. Took all Level I except for a Level II course on time feel that was truly eye opening and a lot of fun! The Level I teachers, Andrew Brown and Jack Soref, are really special nuturing and insightful teachers. I was pretty blown away by the abundance of great players jamming in every nook and cranny. (I spent my jam time in the designated "slow jam" rooms. Prolly be there for a while, lol.) I was wondering: do the Level III and IV folks tend to jam in any given dorm or room? Is it usually the same place as where the facilitated jams for that level are?
Really good to see you, Paul. Everyone else too. I always come away wondering how is this possible...living in this utopian world for a good part of the week. It's so great that it should be unreal, but it's all real.
I took this video during the opening night performances. Let me know what's the song title.
