Mazoud Tuning Peg Replacement

Hi all,

I have the Alain Mazoud Paris Model. A couple of days ago, I came home from the jam and found one of my tuning pegs had fallen off. As far as I know, it was on during the jam. So, it's a mystery.

I'm wondering if anyone had suggestions for replacement. It's black, unlike many white ones. Perhaps, I can put a photo up a little later. I tried out one I pull ed off of an Altamira. But, the hole was too small and perhaps not the right kind of squarish shape.

Mazoud made it for me a few years ago. I would prefer not to contact him directly about this due to a shipping disagreement I had with him that I won't get into.

It's kind of a pickle.

This other Mazaud that was on Michael’s site says it has Schaller tuners with ebony buttons. Do yours have an “S” on the side of the tuner? If you can figure out the brand, that should help identify a supplier who can help with the button. I’m envious, by the way Those Mazaud guitars are some of the best looking and sounding guitars out there!

Now that you mention the Schallers... I did a search for them. Mine look like the cousin of this one, but not quite the same. Mine looks like a Schaller knock-off.

I'm not seeing a lot of single buttons out there for Schaller style tuners. I don't have any special psychic powers. But, I see some Schaller tuners in my future. Replacements for 6 buttons, without the gold support thing that goes under it, cost $50 (without the assurance that they would fit).

I did measure and see that new Schaller tuners should fit. I have noticed that there is a looseness to one of the current ones. Perhaps, its for the best. Still, ugh.
