What was great about the Gallato? Serge has a few of his original 452 Gallato guitars for sale at the mo. They were apparently high-end replicas but without playing them in Toulouse where Serge's workshop is, there's no real way of knowing.
Michael Bauers old Dimauro heart hole which recently went to one of our esteemed Chicago based board members. I had the option to buy but went with a Bumgarner Corazon which suited my needs because of the adjustable neck, great guitar but not that Dimauro.
My Vit Cach....was originally owned by Neil Andersson and when I played it I had to get a Cach. Eventually Neil's came up for sale so I grabbed it, years later still love it.
Thanks buddy. I have tried many Selmers over the years, and #561 had the tone, playability, and volume I was always looking for.

Aside from Selmer #561, which I love, the best gypsy jazz guitars I have ever played are the ones that I have, besides the Selmer. The two Dell Arte Hommage models (the all white "Blues Clair, and the Macias copy). Additionally, and a special mention is the Holo that I just sold to Flaco, which was an amazing guitar, but since I wasn't playing it, and believed it needed to be played more, I was more than happy to sell it.
Finally, I have a Philippe Cattiaux Special Chorus model - which is, in my opinion, without question, THE loudest, easiest playing gypsy jazz guitar I have ever played, ever. I first played one in 2023 in France at the Django festival. I immediately put a deposit down on one to be made for me, and subsequently delivered, in person, at the 2024 Django festival in France. It's the finest of my entire collection, on par with the Selmer. Cedar top (which is French polished), with Ziricote back and sides.

It's sound of his early albums, Portena Soledad.
