Ah, I didn't see Wim's comment when I wrote mine. It isn't perfect. It leaves a little extra space. It never bothered me. Here's the pic, highlights are where it has extra space. In the back it's about the finger width, in the front double that. Waist is a good fit. It depends what you tolerate. Wim's tolerance is like a Porsche. Mine more like Alpha Romeo.
Buco, the link for the $130 case you sent earlier was a hard shell case. This picture shows it as soft. Did you mean this link instead? Is this the one shown?
If that's just a regular hard case and you're checking it as luggage....good luck. They are usually heavy so when they fall they have a pretty good chance of getting enough momentum to snap the headstock. They have minimal padding so minimal crush protection. I'd rather gate check a mono case than luggage check that.
I am planning to do this as a carry-on, not planning to check this one as luggage. The case is compact enough that it should fit in the overhead bin or in the coat closet.
ok I am very sure you won't get that in the overhead bin on a small plane, maybe on a long haul. I've never managed to get a guitar into the coat closet. They seem mystically non existent.
I don't think those cases really provide more protection in the end than a mono case. The additional stiffness is counteracted by the weight which causes it's own problems.
Might not be a perfect solution but that's my feeling. Mono cases are much nicer to carry around once you get where you are, I walked all over Paris for 12 days with mine, no issues. I think they provide similar protection to a lot of other cases. They have their weaknesses and strengths, but they are more pleasant in general than regular cases.
Comments
No, it's a poor fit.
They do. Godin Tric case I have is for dreadnoughts.
Fight fight fight!

The picture I posted? I just posted it for the sake of showing the fit of our guitars in the dread sized case. You know this case.
Yeah, 30% off is no more, and they hiked the price from $200 to $220 now.
Here is my proto-type flight case. Anchor points were attached with T-nuts, 1/2" bolts, and finishing washers.
Got the straps from another guitar case. Field trials start 2nd week of June in Northampton, MA.

Just my thoughts...
