Gypsy Jazz will be swinging Sept. 24-27 in Mill Valley and continues till Sunday. I am planning on attending Thurs, the 28th.

Django Fest Mill Valley used to have the coolest posters for their annual event. This one looks like it was generated by AI. Might be the first case where someone’s hand looking normal is the giveaway…

I think it used to be part of the Nick Lehr run Djangofests. He would have been responsible for getting the posters created (usually with old photos as I remember). Not sure who is organizing this event now.
I think the ability for anyone to create semi-passable art with a few prompts via AI is a real novelty. It seems cool at first. "Make me an image of Django smoking with the Bridge in the back." 3 seconds later-job done. But we're already seening its limitations. Its sudden ubiquity is already leading to a backlash. I'm interested to see if it can improve. Otherwise, we will look back and say, oh yeah, this was that few years when everyone was lazy with AI art.
