Something I see constantly at my camps and workshops, and honestly in jam sessions everywhere, is musicians sitting out tunes simply because they do not know them. And while that is understandable, I genuinely believe that with the right approach and a bit of consistent practice, learning tunes on the spot is a skill that anyone can develop.
I just posted a video on my YouTube channel where I share a simple three step process that will put you in exactly that position. Whether you are a beginner who wants to at least get through a significant portion of an unfamiliar tune, or a more experienced player who wants to sharpen this skill and make it truly second nature, I think there is something in here for everyone.
