In addition to gypsy jazz, I am also a big fan of 1960's era Jamaican ska music. Recently I recorded some tracks for my Ska group and did a very intentionally Djangoesque solo over it. I think it blends very well! Check it out:

    Great!
I remember a Boston area college radio contest for the
best blend of unrelated musics. The winner was "poggae"
a mix of polka and reggae. Can't quite remember the
    tune, but I laughed...--Joel

    Hi all,

the follwing clip is from a CD I made with german Singer and Author Meinrad Jungblut in 1997, when I was member of his band. This CD has never been released, so it is a worldwide premiere. Hope you enjoy. GJ rules!

    Best,
    Barengero

P.S. Excuse the alternate picking. Keep in mind it was the year 6 before "Gipsy Picking"
